During this trip to Gansu, friends with rich travel experience envied me: Oh, the place where the Yellow River bends for the first time, and the vast Norgay grassland, must go to Labrang Monastery to turn around those long prayer wheels, go to Langmu Monastery to see those misty forests, and Gangjia Secret Realm, Yeli Pass, Zhagana... at least stay for ten days and a half. Some friends also asked: Where is Gannan, is it the abbreviation of southern Gansu? Oh, it’s the place where snow flies in August, be sure to bring down jackets, instant noodles, and other daily necessities, bring as many as you can. My friends from the China Tourism Research Institute and Mafengwo Tourism Big Data Laboratory told me that in the second quarter of 2020, the Tourism Asset Index (TPI) report showed that Gannan was selected in the top 20 cities and prefectures in the country and the top 10 cities in the northwest region, ranking 16th in the country, and it is the only prefecture-level city in Gansu on the list. Data shows that this is an emerging niche tourist destination with increasing attention and search volume. Tibetan culture, pilgrimage, exploration, self-driving and customization are the main labels. Data is boring, and culture is the power that touches people's hearts. Thanks to the invitation of Ma Tingli, Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Gansu Provincial Party Committee, I have the opportunity to set foot on this land again and get in touch with the culture here. I am also willing to share my feelings about this trip with friends at home and abroad, and I am more willing to ask comrades how to talk about Gannan.

Please tell me about the nine-color Gannan, and also tell me about the plain Gannan. There are red Tibetan buildings, monks in red, Danxia landforms and red grasslands, orange coral beads symbolizing wealth, purple Bodhi and life fruit, yellow sect monk hats, Gongtang pagodas, Maqu gold, deep blue skies and lakes, green grasslands and forests, Ani Nianqing, black yaks and oil, and white snow lotus. Such beautiful mountains, rivers, forests and grasses, such rich products, and splendid culture are the best interpretation of "Shambhala" in Tibetan. When I came here for the first time in 2018, the most impressive thing was that the provincial party committee and government implemented network management of sanitation and cleaning throughout the territory. Whether it was scenic spots, communities, streets or roads, no garbage could be seen. After coming here two years later, I was even more respectful of the experience of building an "ecologically civilized well-off village" in the 40 years of reform and opening up: Shambhala is right in front of me, but it is not a gift from the gods and emperors, but the result of the joint efforts of people of all ethnic groups in the prefecture under the overall leadership of the party. This feeling is so deep that for a long time when I think of Gannan, the image I have of it is of a bare face.

Some people say that the best tourist season in Gannan is July, August and September, the so-called tourist peak season. In my opinion, every season in Gannan is unique and every inch of land is beautiful. As long as you like it, you don't have to care about the season, let alone come for a certain color. In autumn, the blue sky and yellow leaves, in winter, the continuous ice and snow, are all excellent. The world is so big, and life is limited. No matter how crazy you check in, it is impossible to exhaust all the scenery, let alone experience all the prosperity. It is better to take a scoop of water from the three thousand rivers. Some people say that Gannan, when thinking of you, is the nine-colored Shambhala; when seeing you, it is the plain human world, which is very good.

Please tell me about Gannan on the other side, and also tell me about Gannan on this side. History and culture can make people yearn for it, religious beliefs can inspire respect, and the mundane world will make people feel close, participate and share. Tourism is a way of life that will last forever, and it is also a national right that needs to be protected by the government. It is a sense of family and country, and it is also mundane world. Through tourism, "let the cultural relics collected in museums, the heritage displayed on the vast land, and the words written in ancient books come alive", which is the requirement of the General Secretary and our common responsibility. Gannan has many cultural relics and religious sites. Labrang Monastery, known as the "World Tibetan Studies House", is one of the six major monasteries of the Gepa School of Tibetan Buddhism. In its heyday, there were more than 4,000 monks and more than 65,000 scriptures in existence. Many people know it because of the movie "A World Without Thieves". The heroine played by Rene Liu worshipped three times for her pregnant children, which attracted countless milk tea fans to visit again and again. The documentary "Xuanzang's Journey" which was popular ten years ago also made the audience become supporters of Gannan tourism in the process of learning history and understanding culture. Whether it is the soft dance at the Xianglang Festival or the hand-pulled mutton and barley wine in the Tibetan homestay, they are all beautiful imaginations of Gannan by tourists from other places, and they are also tangible and real life. Secretary Lin said that the Tibetan homestays in Boyu Village, Zhuoni County, can make money without going out, and can receive hundreds of tourists on weekends. Today, more than 1,500 ecologically civilized well-off villages have become a new space for a better life shared by hosts and guests. "Guarding the beautiful scenery and living a poor life" is gone forever! Against the sacred background of the afterlife, tourists from afar and local residents enjoy the prosperity of this life. Please tell me about the history of Gannan and the future of Gannan. As early as the Neolithic Age, there were traces of human activities in the basins of the Three Rivers and One River. In the Qin Dynasty, parts of Gannan were under the jurisdiction of Lintao, and there has been a history of political, economic and cultural exchanges recorded in writing since then. As one of the Tang-Tibetan Ancient Road and one of the four major tea-horse stations on the Southern Silk Road, Lintan County and Hezuo City still have traces of their past, and these historical cultures are valuable resources that can be used for tourism. We must also see that with the maturity of national tourism experience, tourists in a well-off society will certainly go to foreign countries to pay tribute to the past memories, but are more willing to feel the beauty of current life and the future that can be expected. Last night, there was a 5-kilometer-long 100-caravan carnival, a night tour of Hezuo with lights on, and big data, drones, low-altitude flights, and hot air balloons that lead the future. A Gannan full of vitality and infinite vitality slowly unfolded before us. It is the smiles of the three armies after the fierce battle of Lazikou, it is the unbridled singing of people of all ethnic groups at the Lotus Mountain Flower Festival, it is the smiles blooming at the Chaoshui Festival in Heishuigou, it connects the vicissitudes of the past, and it opens a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. This kind of Gannan is the Gannan where people live and work in peace and contentment, and it is also the Gannan where tourists flock to.
